PART 2 of 3

How are YOU doing with those tips so far?  Have you come up with any of your own?

This is an IDEAL time to challenge yourself.  There are some positives to come out of this stay at home order, you just have to look for them.

When you can’t do something, focus on what YOU CAN do and DO IT!

Here are some more tips to make the most out of your stay at home order.

  TIPS #8-14 …. more to come 🙂

#8 Brain Games.  From apps on your phone like Peak (and there are several others) to crossword puzzles, sudoko, word finds and the like.  Anything that CHALLENGES your brain to think is good, and the more variety as to the types of games the better.

#9 Get Fit.  If you were ever one of those people that said you have no time to exercise, guess what, NOW YOU DO.  Unless you’re an essential worker, and God Bless if you are, you have the time now.  Dust off that yoga video, get out for a walk, and get yourself into a routine of exercsing at home.  There are countless apps, fitness sites and youtube videos online.  AND now there are several trainers, including myself, that are available to do virtual workouts.

#10 Take a Hike.  What an ideal time to EXPLORE and ENJOY nature, get some fresh air and exercise.  Go with family or arrange to meet a friend there – just remember to keep a safe distance of at least 6 ft.  Visit local parks or better yet, take a drive to somewhere you haven’t been yet.

#11 Play Stylist.  Whether your hair is getting a bit long or you can’t see your kid’s eyes anymore, NOW is the perfect time to be your own stylist. If you screw up, no worries, as there is plenty of time to grow it out.  AND your stylist will soon be available after this is over for repairs and to fix it.

#12 Feng Shui Away.  In simple terms, feng shui is a traditional Chinese practice that involves creating a RELAXING and welcoming environment in your home.  The goal is to create an environment that allows good energy or “chi” to flow freely.  What does that mean?  Clearing the clutter, getting ORGANIZED, and having a clean living space.  What a perfect time to clear out your closet, sort through boxes of “stuff” and simplify your life.  Feng shui can harmonize and energize your HOME and work space among other amazing benefits such as prosperity, good health, and an increased energy.

#13 Be a Bookworm.  Read, read, read.  This is an ideal time to READ that book you haven’t had time for, finish ones you started, or listen to audio books while on a walk (hint – previous suggestion).

#14 Virtual Scholar. In addition to books, there are thousands of blogs and websites with a vast array of information at your fingertips.  Coursera is a website (one of many) that partners with universities and organizations around the world offering FREE online course.  A top one I suggest, actually a tip someone gave me, is the course “The Science of Well Being.” It’s a course on how to become happy.  You can’t beat a free EDUCATION and now more than ever we need help in the happiness dept.

Give some of these a try and see what you can come up with yourself.
